Hawaii’s urgent need for affordable housing, particularly in the area of unprecedented growth that is Kakaako, was addressed in high style with Hawaiian Dredging’s completion of Halekauwila Place. Presenting a level of luxury not expected in such a project, the 19-story residential complex offers a mix of living options including uniquely innovative townhouse units as well as the traditional apartments that comprise the tower.

Halekauwila Place is comprised of 204 units that include five 2-story townhouses that are part of the parking structure and three street-frontage retail units. The residential tower was constructed using the tunnel forming concrete construction approach pioneered by Hawaiian Dredging in Hawaii’s highrise construction sector. Aesthetic design features like the large arching roof shading the upper floors and trellised walkways contribute to the excellent curb appeal this exciting residence brings to the Kakaako neighborhood.
