Pier 51B Container Yard Improvements

Our commercial projects are successful because we know how to work with clients and serve their interests. Horizon Lines operates one of Hawaii’s premier transport businesses at Pier 51. We accepted a challenge to refit the pier without impacting normal shipping operations.

Horizon Lines invested millions. Old concrete structures (decks, curbs, etc) were replaced with reinforced concrete that supports greater payloads.

State-of-the-art Rubber Tire Gantry Cranes were installed on the new surfaces so Horizon could capitalize on improved efficiencies and cargo availability.

The refit was completed on schedule and below budget while accommodating operations at one of the busiest ports in the Pacific.
