The Sand Island Wastewater Treatment Plant is Honolulu’s largest plant, processing an average of 65 million gallons of wastewater a day. Hawaiian Dredging has collaborated on many improvement projects to keep this vital facility working efficiently.
Hawaiian Dredging constructed three new odor control systems utilizing state-of-the-art biological odor scrubbers with the capacity to treat 120,000 cubic feet of foul air every minute.
Additionally, the treatment plant’s four gravity thickener were refurbished, further contributing to improved sewage processing.
