This 32-story apartment building located on the edge of Chinatown primarily serves kupuna (elderly residents). Hawaiian Dredging completed a full renovation of every unit in just eight working days each. The upgrades included new windows, kitchen cabinets, countertops, flooring, painting, appliances, plumbing and electrical fixtures, as well as the introduction of fire sprinklers in each unit. For the duration of their renovation, the residents of Maunakea Tower were temporarily relocated to onsite “hotel” units until their unit was completed. Hawaiian Dredging also renovated the common areas, such as corridors, elevators, mailroom, and laundry room, while adding a new classroom and exercise room. This project additionally included ADA improvements to the front parking lot and entrance, as well as exterior painting.
