Substructure and Waterline Repairs at Pier 2, Honolulu Harbor
Honolulu Harbor Pier 2 is an operational pier primarily serving cruise ships that come into Honolulu. The scope of work for this project, Substructure and Waterline Repairs at Pier 2, Honolulu Harbor, consisted of removal and disposal of hazardous materials, repairing substructure spalls, installing an epoxy coating system, removing an existing waterline (including valves, hanger assemblies, braces, and other attachments), substructure repair work, and installing a new waterline and laterals (including valves, hanger assemblies, braces, tape wrapping, and other attachments).
Substructure repair work included demolition of impaired concrete, replacement of damaged rebar, fabrication of concret forms, and performing concrete pours. Waterline repairs included removing the existing aging waterline, installing a new waterline (approximately 1800 linear feet) beneath the entire length of Pier 2, installing new laterals, and repairing accesshatches for the docking utility distribution to the Pier.
