Project Description

In this design-build project for the Navy, Hawaiian Dredging delivered a LEED Platinum certified Child Development Center that included the main structure, a 31,000 square foot single-story facility with training and activity rooms for infants, pre-toddlers, toddlers, and preschoolers. The site design also included and exciting and safe playground with attractively laid-out walkway, shading, safety surfaces, and play equipment.

The building system that includes anti-terrorism and force protection was constructed of reinforced concrete masonry walls, interior metal studs, and steel framing. Photo voltaic panels were installed along with solar panels for water heater system to achieve a net-zero electrical system.
