Waihonua at Kewalo

Hawaiian Dredging was selected to breathe life into the strikingly beautiful design of the Waihonua at Kewalo residential condominium, a 43-story tower comprised of 341 one-, two-, and three-bedroom units along with a resort-like pool and outdoor lounging area.

The tower’s signature design element consists of a large triangular concrete trellis over the main entrance connected by a “fin” vertically traversing the building’s face to the rooftop where it connects to a larger, identically shaped trellis protruding as far as 24 feet from the roof’s edge. A dual-colored glazed curtain wall of blue- and silver- tinted glass along with hand-picked natural stone tiles gracing the building’s front entry walls contribute to the design theme of a place where sea and land come together in a single structure that seems to connect the land and sea with the sky.

More than a popular address in the Kakaako neighborhood, the Waihonua at Kewalo is a statement of the spirit of the area and a vivid example of construction ingenuity!
